We arrived at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home on Friday, November 3. We were the last MMAPers to arrive on the project. We spent over three weeks there and watched fall turn to winter. We had a few frosty nights during the three weeks we worked there.

We left Bedford on Oct 31, and stopped in Tennessee to have dinner with Terry and Mary Ann. The next night we stayed at McKinney Campground (COE) on Allatoona Lake. The Campground was full and the sites that were left were too small or too narrow. They finally gave us one of the handicapped sites, which was very nice.

Visit with Uncle Walter

Bedford is a small town full of front porches and huge shade trees. We come here every chance we get to visit Uncle Walter. Walter lives next to the Day and Carter Mortuary and we are allowed to park in the mortuary parking lot when we come. Sometimes this is not so good. The parking lot can fill up fast when there is a funeral or a viewing and we can’t get out. The town looks much more prosperous than it has in the past. Almost every one of the old houses has had new siding or new paint. It was beautiful with the fall leaves.

We arrived at Twin Lakes the first Friday in October and the MMAP Project started the following Monday. We stayed three weeks. It was very windy and we had some nights that got down to 24 degrees. No Indian Summer this year. But we enjoyed our stay there anyway.
