Visiting MMAP friends - Wamego, Kansas
5 Stars  This place was Amazing visited May 5, 2007
We had a great weekend with some MMAP friends at their lovely home outside Wamego, KS. Their home sits on a hill and we were glad to be on high ground with everything flooding in the vicinity. Several strong thunderstorms and one tornado came through while we were there. We had no damage, but did get a scare one night that was enough to make us run for cover. A tornado touched down in a nearby town.
We were glad to be on a hill.

Kay County Fair Grounds - Blackwell, Oklahoma
3 Stars  This place was Average visited May 4, 2007
We were on our way from Texas to Minnesota and needed a place to stay the night. We parked at the Kay County Fair Grounds in Blackwell, OK. I had called the Chamber of Commerce to make sure there was nothing going on. It was pretty quiet except for two guys on riding mowers that cut the grass from about 5 to 11 p.m.(they had lights on the mowers). We walked downtown to the post office. We had a storm during the night. A tornado completely wiped out a town about 130 miles away in Greensboro, KS.

Thousand Trails on Lake Texoma - Gordonville, TX, Texas
5 Stars  This place was Amazing visited Apr 30, 2007
We arrived on a Monday, chased by the rain. God was with us and it never caught up with us although we saw dark clouds all around. We spent four very pleasant days here in spite of the thunder storms every now and then. We drove back to Gainsville on Wednesday to do some shopping. This is a beautiful park with outstanding facilities and beautiful buildings. The sites are spread out so that everyone has a big yard. We found a site where we could pick up WiFi from the Family Center and had no trouble getting on line.
Park-like setting
Nice facilities
Adult Lodge has huge covered porch
No folding chairs here

Thousand Trails at Lake Whitney - Whitney, Texas
4 Stars  This place was Great visited Apr 27, 2007
We spent a very pleasant weekend here after the Smithville project. We were in 13-D and could pick up free WiFi in the trailer. This is an ideal site with enough trees to give privacy, but not so many that it's dark in the trailer. The last of the bluebells were still blooming along with indian paintbrush and a dark red wildflower I didn't recognize.

A great site with lots of privacy
Plenty of shade, but not dark
