Camp Ironwood - Newberry Springs, California
5 Stars  This place was Amazing visited Nov 1, 2007
Newberry Springs is where Camp Ironwood is located (three miles down an unpaved road). Once there you can’t believe you are only a mile or so from I-15. There are mountains, a lake and green trees. It really is the desert at it’s best. We worked there from November 2 - 22.
Lots of green (for a desert).

Kern County Fairground - Bakersfield, California
3 Stars  This place was Average visited Oct 31, 2007
At the last minute our project was changed from Fullerton to Newberry Springs so we spent the night at the Fairgrounds in Bakersfield and shopped at WINCO (no Super Walmart). The Kern County Fairground is very nice and has pretty good security.

Thousand Trails at Morgan Hill - Morgan Hill, California
4 Stars  This place was Great visited Oct 26, 2007
We parked the trailer at Thousand Trails and spent the weekend with Jack and Judy in San Jose. On Sunday night we came back and spent two more nights at the park. When we left we drove over to I-5. We had thought of going down 101 but there were forest fires in Southern California.

Lake Minden Thousand Trails Park - East Nicolaus, California
4 Stars  This place was Great visited Oct 23, 2007
We parked at my daughter's in Chico for over three weeks in October. On the 23rd we left there and drove to Minden so we could have dinner with the Treff’s. I walked the next morning and took pictures of the mist rising from the lake and the red sunrise.

Oregon Christian Convention Center - Turner, Oregon
5 Stars  This place was Amazing visited Sep 9, 2007
We volunteered here for three weeks. Since it is just south of Salem we spent a lot of our free time in Salem. We parked away from the other RVs that were down near the dining room and were glad we did since they were constructing a bridge not far from there and it was very noisy. However, we were the only ones who could not pick up the WiFi. We ended up running a phone line clear over to the A-frame.
