Nothing fancy, but lovely area.

We knew nothing about this place before we went. It's near Babb, MT in the Many Glacier area of Glacier NP. The motel is nothing to get excited about. If you are going for the atmosphere of the outdoors this is a cheaper alternative to the Many Glacier Hotel. After my experience at another Glacier Hotel I'm glad we cheaped (relatively speaking) out and stayed here. We were there for the outdoors and this was a roof over our heads. It's old and musty smelling and we had ants which the manager sent someone to deal with immediately upon our leaving before the next customers arrived. We were able to enjoy the scenery of Many Glacier and the architecture and grandeur of the Many Glacier Hotel and not pay the steep rates for a less than exceptional room there. Would I stay there again, being that we are normally campers I'd probably camp in the decent campground that is right there and not the motel. As we had to stay in a motel for the money we saved and no other options I'd pick the Swiftcurrent again. They do have cabins and I can't comment on them but they do exist. I'd stay there for the location and Many Glacier is a gorgeous location. There is no view from most motel/cabin rooms but that valley is beautiful to explore.

Interesting Hotel not worth the money.

We reserved a high-end room at $190.00 a night. We got a small room a double and single bed and a closet for a bathroom. The shower was so small to me and I'm a small female. I don't mind old it can be charming. This wasn't. We had a door in our room connecting to another room that was screwed shut and on our side a twin bed was in front of it. Not only could you hear everything through it the people in the adjoining room didn't get that it led to our room and repeatedly tried to open it throughout our one evening in common for our stays. Our tiny high-end room with no frills was on the top floor at the end of the annex building which was attached to the main building but what a long walk. If you book here utilize the bellhop. There is no public elevator to use. We carried our bags up two flights to be kind to the bellhop how silly of us! It's an amazing main lobby and a sunroom/hall to the annex building, wide hallways, very charming main rooms. The restaurant didn't have an appealing thing on the menu too fancy for our average family and too pricey to chance trying it. I'd have stayed somewhere else if there'd been any indication of any of this and just visited this lovely building and garden it wasn't pleasant for our family of three to stay in. On the plus side we were only there two nights. The morning of our departure the hotel lost power as there was no storm I'm not sure why we were just told that the entire hotel was out. This included water pressure.

Good for family savings.

This hotel was no frills, but had a full kitchen sans oven to make family travel more economical. We hate to spend money on three meals a day we don't eat that way normally or at restaurants that much. We could have breakfasts and lunch or dinner easily in the room. You have to pay for daily maid service but it's easy to clean up after ourselves. They allow one weekly service with the cost of your room. There's a fee for daily towel renewal and/or light housekeeping daily. We didn't bother and were fine. Other than getting used to cleaning up more after ourselves while in a hotel and taking the garbage down the hall when it filled up we didn't have a problem with the set up at all. It's on the Missouri River and near the River walk park, convenient to 10th Avenue with many conveniences, shopping, restaurants, coffee shop, gas stations, etc. Decent deal for the price we got.

Good Experience

We stayed here twice in two weeks. We flew into Salt Lake for a road trip north and stayed our first and last day of vacation. The first night the room was average, clean, adequate. They have a breakfast buffet that was okay. You could make a fresh hot waffle in 2 1/2 minutes decent experience. They have a small pool, indoor, and hot tub, vending machines, ice and free wireless internet as well as access to two computers and printers for internet use in the lobby. It was clean and freshly decorated. On our last stay we had a newly renovated, retro style room. My teenage daughter (16) loved it and I enjoyed the design also. It still smelled slightly of paint. I believe a dark laminate wood floor and fresh decor added to it's appeal. We were very pleased. Flat screen TV, new mattresses, bright cheerful colors. It was great having a fresh, clean, upbeat environment at the end of a long trip.
