Terrific location, great restaurant!

The restaurant is really enough to recommend this boutique hotel that's situated on a quaint, old-world style commercial street north of the Boston Common and Public Garden. The food is delicious from appetizer to dessert, with fresh ingredients used in inventive and tantalizing ways. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the historic sights, shopping and other dining options in Downtown Boston (if you can tear yourself away from the hotel's restaurant!) Free wireless Internet throughout is a great perk.

Okay hotel, nice location

Well-located, European-style hotel. Basic amenities in the rooms and good location for sightseeing, dining and shopping. Continental breakfast is included and each room has a private bath. The brochure boasts of complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access, but the service is bad and there is usually not a wireless signal. This should either be fixed or removed from the brochure. Location is great for sightseeing, dining and shopping - two stops on the Green Line "T" are within walking distance.

Very nice centrally located hotel

Beautiful, sun-filled lobby and well-appointed rooms make for a great experience for either businesspeople or tourists. The location could not be better, across from the Prudential Center and the shopping and dining there, and close to the wonderful juxtaposition of old and new architecture that can be seen with Trinity Church and the Old South Church mirrored in the John Hancock Building. The Back Bay Amtrak station is close by, as are several stops on the Green Line of the "T" to reach points of interest throughout Boston easily.

Lovely, simple European-style hotel

Very nice accommodations in a historical, multi-use building just steps away from Copley Square. Smaller rooms, more in line with European hotels, with simple furnishings and private bathrooms. The building also houses a YWCA and the Lyric Stage Theater company, but guests are not disturbed by noise from either. The hotel is actually a non-profit whose proceeds go to support the programming at the Y. There is a very small exercise room and business center, and wired Internet in the rooms, but no wireless access. Each floor also has a seating area. Very friendly and helpful reception staff.
