Very Impressed with Service & Style
I was attending a meeting at L'enfant Plaza, and was given the choice of staying at the host hotel, or another hotel 3 blocks away). Since I didn't want to walk each morning due to some recent knee surgery, I decided to spend the extra money and stay at the host hotel. What a great decision! Not only was the staff committed to great service, they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable (after they noticed me on crutches). They even sent up an extra firm pillow for under my knee so I could be comfortable in bed! I received a follow-up call the next morning from the Front Office Manager to make sure I was enjoying my stay, and to give me the location of my meetings in the hotel. The food was great, and the Bar had a great selection of beers on tap, so I was able to enjoy my favorite seasonal beer. The pool was closed one day because they were doing some maintenance, but since it's covered by a bubble I was able to be in it the next day even though it was chilly and raining. I talked with my friend at the conference who was staying at the other hotel with our group, and he did not enjoy his stay at all, and actually moved to this hotel on the second night so he could have better service. Overall, this is the best hotel I've stayed at in DC (at least in this downtown area). The metro is right in the hotel, and everything you could need to go to is within walking distance. Definitely worth every penny paid! I didn't have any cleanliness problems (although the property does have some "odd" older wallpaper designs in the halls, but it looks French, so I guess it's kind of like in the style of the the French designer; not my taste at all, but it's just wallpaper).
