Great

A nice resort on Koh Tao

I stayed at the Sensi Paradise Beach Resort in November 2006 for about four nights. I had come to Koh Tao to learn how to scuba dive and just enjoy the place. (By the way - I used Blue Diamond Scuba diving, recommended.)

Sensi has very nice wooden bungalows that have nice views and good beds. Most of the rooms are fan cooled and they only have electricity turned on at night. It can be a little rustic at first, but you quickly start to enjoy the simple living these kinds of places offer. The staff is great, super nice and always willing to help out. The restaurant is decent, it’s a little pricey compared with the restaurants that are in town and walking distance from the resort.

One other drawback I'd mention is that the resort is somewhat close to the main pier at Mae Haad and from time to time you can see garbage floating in the , it kind of sucks, but you don't swim in that area.

Overall, it's a good compromise between price and quality. If you're looking to stay at a resort on Koh Tao but not spend a ton it's a good place. But it should be noted that there are cheaper places in and around Mae Haad that can be found.

Beautiful brand new hotel

I stayed at this hotel in November 2006, it's located on the east side of Bangkok, a little further out from the central part of the city but still a good area.

The hotel itself is brand new and very nice. It's definitely a five star hotel with all the service and amenities you'd expect. The staff was very friendly and helpful - I even was offered a free upgrade!

Room I stayed in was great, I was on the 28th floor and the views of the city were fantastic. Hotel beds were very comfortable, each room had a flat screen TV with plenty of English content. They set up the room twice a day! And the bathroom was huge and had both a shower and a big tub.

Highly recommend this place. Only draw back is that you need to take the skytrain or a taxi to get to more of the tourist destinations in the city.

Great hotel with some nightlife

I've stayed here several times and have a good experience each time. The rooms are very nice and well kept, beds have always been comfortable. The rooms have all the standard features you'd expect in an upscale hotel.

A good bonus is the bar in the lobby of the hotel is a popular night spot called Vbar. The hotel is also located on Santana Row, so you'll have tons of shopping and dining options all within walking distance.
