A nice resort on Koh Tao
I stayed at the Sensi Paradise Beach Resort in November 2006 for about four nights. I had come to Koh Tao to learn how to scuba dive and just enjoy the place. (By the way - I used Blue Diamond Scuba diving, recommended.)
Sensi has very nice wooden bungalows that have nice views and good beds. Most of the rooms are fan cooled and they only have electricity turned on at night. It can be a little rustic at first, but you quickly start to enjoy the simple living these kinds of places offer. The staff is great, super nice and always willing to help out. The restaurant is decent, it’s a little pricey compared with the restaurants that are in town and walking distance from the resort.
One other drawback I'd mention is that the resort is somewhat close to the main pier at Mae Haad and from time to time you can see garbage floating in the , it kind of sucks, but you don't swim in that area.
Overall, it's a good compromise between price and quality. If you're looking to stay at a resort on Koh Tao but not spend a ton it's a good place. But it should be noted that there are cheaper places in and around Mae Haad that can be found.
