I stayed here for the first and last nights of my tour around North Island in October 2003. At that time the rate was a reasonable $NZ101.

The rooms were good, and the amenities excellent.

Like most airport hotels the Centra is a bit out in the sticks so entertainment is limited. The nearby Bar and Baa is a good alternative if, like me, you don't like drinking in hotel bars.

Recommended.

I stayed here for only one night in March 2003. The ensuite room with a balcony overlooking the harbour cost a very reasonable $NZ65. If I had been staying in Mangonui for any length of time, this is the hotel I would have stayed in.

There are few hotels in this one-horse town, this one is on the main street. The en-suite room was only NZ$13 for the night, but I was kept awake all night by the hotelier's dog howling. The hotel is right next door to a large and noisy pub, but the beer was good!
