A pleasant surprise
Needing a stay for a day before a Caribbean cruise, there wasn't much available so we settled on the Ramada Plaza.
I read many negative reviews of the place, but my options were very limited. I was pleasantly surprised, finding none of the faults discussed as per the room, service, etc.
Nearby restaurants are non-existent, but the very inexpensive buffets were welcome ($9.95 for dinner with 3 entrees). The pool area was lovely (palms, hammocks, a Tiki bar). All in all, it was a most welcomed experience.
The one negative is that the hotel is a $50 taxi ride from the airport and is a ways from the cruise port though there is a reasonably priced shuttle that we used.
