The service does not match the price
I had only a short stay in the Hyatt Regency Tampa, but during the three days I stayed, I got the impression that the hotel is charging the prices of a Hyatt hotel but does not deliver the services.
On my second day here, I spent 45 minutes waiting for a cheese omelet for breakfast. The hotel room was not made up until 4.30 pm. I called housekeeping, but 30 minutes later no one showed up. I went to reception to complain and got the excuse that they where very busy because they had many departures this day. There were plenty of apologies, but I was not even offered a coffee while waiting for housekeeping to make up the room.
I went to the whirlpool, but it was dirty, the pool area was OK, but the exhaust from the kitchen ended up right near the lounge chair area at the 5th floor near the pool, so I was sitting at the pool smelling the burning fat from the deep fryer of the kitchen.
The staff in the bar was friendly and efficient. The croissants served at the breakfast buffet came fresh from the fridge.
