I stayed here in Aug '07. Elevator & Hallways were warm.. Room was small and the are right next to a freight train tracks. Which seems to rumble by about every 30min until 10p.

I will say it was great to be with in walking distance to the Downtown harbor and the USS Midway and other things,

It did feel very safe there, left too early to enjoy the free breakfast.

But I would come back and stay there again for leisure..

I stayed here in Aug 07, my room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, Breakfast was great, the Happy Hour was lame, the free beer was bud lite.. others were $5 a bottle..

My only complaint really was, if you had someone heavy heeled walking around in the room above you, you heard every step!

But I didn't spend much time in my room.

So I stayed here June '07 for the Laconia MC rally,

The place needs some TLC, the front desk people were pleasant and friendly,

The owners hadn't owned it too long and were trying to get a handle on the place.

The so called "Continental breakfast" was lame at best, 2 dry cereals and some stale muffins..

After one of those breakfasts, I went into town.

I will say it was clean, quiet motel, needs some paint and outside fix ups, but otherwise it was a decent clean place to stay, which I did for 3 nights.

I stayed here TWICE in June while on a motorcycle trip.

Close to the Cat Ferry,

I have to say the people at the front desk were friendly, customer orientated,

The lobby also had a nice sitting area, it's like an old motorcourt motel that has been remodeled, The rooms were clean and bright, the bathroom's were a little small, they have wifi thru the rooms so you can get on the internet.

The 2nd time I came back thru a week after my first stay, I stopped in to get a room and the lady at the desk remembered me! How often does THAT happen?!

I plan to be back in Bar Harbor in Sept '08 and plan to stay there again!

Next door is a micro-brewery & steakhouse that I would highly recommend.
