Relaxing
We have stayed at the Colonial many times and always leave wishing we could have stayed longer. They are on a busy stretch of US5, but the rooms are set back on a surprisingly large piece of land. The rooms are nothing fancy, but large and homey, each decorated a bit differently. This is a family owned establishment, and their true gem is the spa and pool at the back end of the property. They have a long lap pool inside a building with a small fitness center, which is well kept. Outside the pool, they have a large wooden hot tub under a gazebo, outdoors. It is nice to sit in the tub where you can see the mountains, and breathe the fresh air, even if it is snowing. Nearby there are several restaurants including one on site. The rates are also very reasonable.
