Pretty Cool Place

I liked this place. The rooms were nice. I liked the location because it was unique and scenic. Every morning I would wake up and take the nature walk through the desert along the river. It was beautiful and peaceful and although you feel like you are in the middle of the desert, you are still close enough to civilization to feel comfortable and safe. The pool area was very nice and service at the hotel was good. The resort is family friendly and the Whirlwind Golf Club is one of my favorite courses in the area. If you are a golfer, you might want to check out We-Ka-Pa Golf Course in Fort McDowell and it is my favorite course in the AZ. They have tow 18’s and both are wonderful.

No good!

I usually love the St Regis brand. I have stayed at a few and when I had a night to kill and wanted a comfortable place to relax in the midst of a long business trip, I checked into the St Regis. How could you go wrong? Well, this is not your normal St Regis. The place needed a touch up, the staff was not very helpful, and it was noisy. My room was over the loading dock and employee entrance. Behind that was a construction site. Behind that was a train that rolled by every 2 hours. I thought I was in a Red Roof Inn in Wichita. What a waste of money and more importantly, I did not get the good nights sleep I was searching for. Don’t pay the extra money to stay here.

Must do it at least once in a lifetime

I never get tied of staying at the Lodge. Where do I start? The rooms are wonderful. Great beds that feel awesome when the evening chill sets in. Overall the rooms are luxurious and clean. Mine had a fireplace and a reading area. I wish all hotel rooms were this comfortable.

The beds can be hard to sleep in when you are overly excited about playing gold the next day. This is my ranking of the top courses. 1. Spyglass, 2. Spanish Bay, 3. Pebble Beach. Each one if over top awesome but I have been fortunate to play these courses many times and that is how I prefer them. If you are there for a once in lifetime trip, you have to play Pebble for the history and Spyglass for the challenge.

The village of Carmel is unique and very relaxing to walk around, do some shopping and have dinner.

The entire area is a little slice of heaven.

Great Place!!

I liked this hotel. I was there a couple of years ago and it was just ok. Now they have redone the hotel and it was fantastic. Great beach, pool and the rooms are very nice. The staff is very nice and the location is in the middle of all the places you want to be.

The best meal I had during my visit was at Tara Steakhouse.(5 minute drive) Very good food. I have had dinner and hundreds of steakhouses and I found this to be one of the better ones.

The hotel golf course is called The Rookery. It is a 10 minute drive. I liked the course. Very scenic and challenging. The GC is a bird reserve so between shots you can look at all the birds that live in the nature preserve.

All in all, a great stay and I can not wait to come back.
