There are far too many beautiful and charming hotels in the area to choose from...stay away from this one. The rooms are cramped, even by European standards. We stayed on the very top floor, and the only redeeming quality of the place was the location. We were able to get to most places by Metro or by foot without problem. In the Marais district there are many charming spots to stay in, most with better views than ours. I had "hotel envy" as we would pass them on our sightseeing trips.

Overall, it is in your best interest to find a safer, more luxurious hotel for your money. This one isn't it.

Unfortunately, we were unaware that this "boutique" hotel of only 7 employees had a thief amongst them...I came back to my room on my last night in Paris to discover that someone had rifled through our luggage and personal belongings in search of valuables. They found what they were looking for (again, hotel does not have a safe) and it turned out to be quite a nightmare with the police involved. The hotel manager and owner showed indifference to the entire matter.
