All you'd ever need from a London hotel!

53 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business
After my last stay, this is what I now think of as my home away from home!
I'm based in Hong Kong, and visit London 2-3 times a year. So I need a place that I can get to directly from Heathrow, by using the Picadilly line. A place that's big enough to take all my baggage when I'm on one of my 2 month trips. A place that's efficient at check-in. A place that makes me feel at home, each time I come. A room that has all the mod-cons you can think of, topped off with a price that's hard to argue with anywhere in the UK, let alone Central London.
I think I finally found what I've been looking for!
I am
very likely
to return to the base2stay kensington.
I
would definitely recommend it to
friends.

I loved this hotel. It's billed as a kind of "do it yourself" hotel (no room service, etc.) but in reality, these are some of the most helpful, warm people I met in London.
I managed to stay in the only room on the property with a ground floor but private patio, complete with table and chairs and a private garden. The patio is surrounded by local mews and is just gorgeous. The room was small but very well appointed, complete with a little mini-kitchen in a closet, a luxurious bathroom with a window that opens out to the private patio (gorgeous), a large flat-panel TV on the wall and a thoughtfully appointed desk. Earl's Court shops are nearby (literally a 3-minute walk) and some of the best coffee and pastry I had in London can be found immediately down the street.
Their prices are extremely reasonable for such a great property. It's highly recommended.
