I thought the food was fantastic and the Chef really new what he was doing, the vegan option was even better. They have locally grown produce, which is organic. Check it out!

Nothing like the pictures that are shown! The only nice place on the "resort" is the spa and cafe.

Our tent cabin had only a sheet, so travel with sleeping bags because it gets below freezing. The entire tent cabin was covered in mildew. Towels have to be rented, linens are not cleaned.

Worst 2 parts of this "resort": absolutely snotty staff! Had to hike up a few hills to get to the bathroom and showers. Pretty disgusting showers and bathrooms, except at the spa. (Spa is $10 per day per person)

Cafe ran out of just about everything, we were there for 4 days and ended up just leaving and driving the few miles to town for every meal. They leave the 5 meal choices on the board, but then tell you they only have 1 of them.

I thought my neighbors were noisy, but it is just the way the wood is laid out. It amplifies your walk so it sounds like you are stomping. Food. It was good, but dinner took a long time to order and get. Breakfast was worse. I waited in line for 15 minutes, then waited an hour and 15 minutes to get my food. Finally, I simply asked for a refund. We had ordered lunches to go at the same time we ordered breakfast. Lunch wasn't ready either! I had to have a lunch, especially since I was going without breakfast. It took them another 20 minutes to put two sandwiches together. I don't recommend this place. Customer service is horrible. The cook was yelling at the staff and the staff looked like they just hit the bong.

55 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for business

The first night, other guests were stomping around in the bathroom (right next to my bed on the other side of the wall) until after 1am and talking loudly. The temp in the womens dorm had to be 90 degrees and we were all roasting to death with windows open in January. I moved all sheets and pillow to the other room, to the only remaining available bed, and on that bed the mattress was so broken down, there was very little between me and the wood platform underneath. No sleep that night as I basically was trying to sleep on wood. I asked for an upgrade the next morning, and they moved me to another room, with (coed) public type toilets/showers with cement floor, that was outside and downstairs. Hope you don't have to go in the middle of the night. The "upgrade" building had more than a few rooms, with one central thermostat in the hall, set at 67 degrees. Considering that I was completely frozen the whole night, and it was more like 50 in my room, I got no sleep that night either. I tried sleeping on the top bunk thinking it would be warmer air towards the ceiling, but when I got up there, right under the vent, which was above the bed, I realized the "heating" vent was just blowing air, not hot air, just air, and there was only two feet between the upper bed and the ceiling. It was pretty claustrophobic, and just as cold. I then started getting sick the day after leaving, from having a diminished immune system from no sleep, exposure to some of the other guests in the first room who were also sick but didn't bother to tell anyone, and probably from freezing all night the second night, even with thermal underwear, pajamas, two pair of socks and hat on, under three (thin) blankets, that are more like horse blankets than human blankets. At $20 a night, you get what you pay for. Stay in the dorms only as a last resort, spend the $$ and rent a private room or a cabin is my review. The staff, facility and location is great, and the restaurant and lounge was really nice also, but I couldn't exactly sleep there, or I would have. Sleep isn't an option, its a biological imperative.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Yosemite Bug Lodge Hostel.
I might recommend it to friends.

The staff were lovely and friendly at the Yosemite Bug but one big problem - lapse of security regarding credit card details! Ask them to make sure they do not have a print out of your booking which includes all your credit card details on their scrap-pad! We are all for saving the planet and recycling paper but the recycled paper they use on their scrap-pad contained someone else's booking details, their address in the UK, full credit card number, expiry date and also the 3-digit security pin number! Not good!
