The Wonder View Inn is located on the site of Farview, the estate of Mary Roberts Rinehart, famous writer of mystery stories. The stone steps and walls on grounds are remnants of the original Rinehart Estate. Most of the Estate and 100's of surrounding homes were destroyed by fire in 1947.

I always stay there with the Corvette club. It is the only local motel that can handle all the cars with parking that is out of the site of the passers by.

We stayed at the Wonder View Inn on our recent trip and it was wonderful. The view from the top is incredible it looks out over the ocean and the islands surrounding Bar Harbor.
