The hotel exterior lived up to its name. Interior on first arrival looked like an old B&B. Our rooms were nicely decorated, but smelled of mold; there was mold in the shower and the hair dryer sounded like an airplane. Staff at front desk were not very helpful. The dryer was fixed by the end of the day. For the price of these rooms, I expect to find staff who go out of their way to help their guests. We were handed pamphlets for places to eat and things to do and told to read them. Everything was in the pamphlets. And it was, but a cold way of being dealt with, especially since there were no other guests at the front desk. At breakfast, the restaurant was empty. Instead of putting us at a nice window table, they gave us the one in the farthest corner away from the windows, near the kitchen door - because they were getting ready for dinner (10:30am). It is listed as a B&B, and from our experience with other B&B's, it was not.
45 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
From the UK. We traveled around New England and stayed in several hotels. This was without doubt the poorest. We experienced service levels that you don't normally get in America. Bar, restaurant and general staff attitude left a lot to be desired. The bar was left empty with customers waiting including us. The restaurant staff were miserable and we were then ignored along with other customers to the point where we got up and left not having had any breakfast.

The pool was really nice and refreshing on that warm summer day. The staff was really nice and provided us with everything we needed. The college was nice too and I loved playing soccer on the barren, rolling hills.
