I'm staying in a "villa" at the Wild Dunes Resort, and the place is so tacky and dirty, from the bleach stains on the carpet to the incompletely patched holes in the walls to the visibly dirty linens (not to mention the tacky 1980's decor), that I'm finding it hard to relax. Apparently the beach at this part of the island isn't really swimmable (or rather, they tell me, is only swimmable at low tide, if you watch out for the rip tides) so I might as well have stayed at a nicer place in town. I'd recommend this place for college students on break, maybe, but adults can do better (even with kids in tow).
