Stay Away
member icon Worst so-called hotel I have ever stayed in

Hotel shares its lobby with a bar which is open until 5:00 am!

This is not a real hotel, I guess. There were no amenities detected anymore.

Staff at the reception (I presume it was reception) was horrible! My wife had our daughter sleeping on her shoulder, but that guy was set us a most noisy room beside the bar. We did not realize because it was an early hour for a bar. We think that was intentional.

Because we had an argument during our check-in about their 100 USD room deposit policy and taking copies of our ids. We had to change our room at 02:00 am with a sleeping child and 4 of heavy luggage through a gauche bar. Do not go to this so-called hotel if you have a family.

Stay Away
member icon A terrible way to run a business

NEVER stay here. We booked our reservations for two rooms FOUR months in advance. When the first girl in our party arrived she was told they had our rooms but she could not check in until the person whose name the reservation was under had arrived. Within three hours we all were there, and they then told us they had lost our reservations. After refusing to leave without an explanation, we were told a million lies - they went from saying they lost the reservations to saying the rooms had leaks and couldn't be rented out! We spent hours trying to speak with the manager. She wasn't there and didn't answer calls from her employees (allegedly, anyway). We were not compensated in any way for this huge error and were told to come back the next day to speak with the manager. She amazingly had a "family emergency" that day and was unavailable to talk with us. What a horrible way to run a business. We had traveled from all over the country (L.A., NYC, Tennessee, San Fran and Ohio) to give our best friend a great bachelorette celebration. Whitelaw ruined the first several hours of our trip and offered nothing in return for their giant mistake! I am amazed they can stay in business. It's an embarassment to the entire South Beach area.

Advertised as a boutique hotel on South Beach, it leaves a lot to be desired. Service being one of them, there is none. While the location is right in the heart of everything, advertisements can be misleading. There is no hotel parking, and your car is sent somewhere offsite for parking at an additional $30.00 a day cost.

Breakfast comes with the reservation, that is if you like several days old orange wedges, diluted orange juice, and sticky doughnuts. Young people often don't think about service, just fun. However, I guess when there is absolutely no service, even they are found complaining.

To be fair, the idea of a hotel decorated in all crisp white is refreshing. The in room bar was adequately stocked with miniatures and junk food. However, things like fresh towels were overlooked. Perhaps they had not had the opportunity to make repairs from the hurricane a year before because there were water stains on the ceiling and a slow drip from the bathroom ceiling. Skip this one and look for something better in Bal Harbour for the same price.

I am not likely to return to the Whitelaw Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Eeeewwwww yuck! This was the worst! Whitelaw should be outlawed! The only good thing I can come up with about this place is that the location is OK. The rooms are small, as soon as you open the door, you're in! They are not very polished or pristine as one of the descriptions said. The floor looks as if it doesn't get mopped, let alone swept. The "headboard" on the wall had dust, thick dust on it, and appears as if it does not get wiped down either.

We had to pull the bathroom door with all our might to get it to close and stay shut. And the bathroom should be bulldozed!

The "music" is loud non stop and the walls and floors are very, very thin. This place should be shut down. Our last day there, the hotel sent out notices that the water would be shut off by the city from 9 am to 3 pm. This happened at 8 am. The happy hour "free drinks" are limited, but they try to make it sound like you can get what you like. All and all, I would never, ever return to this place.

Oh, I forget about the "resort" fee of $5 a day they charge. They should first learn what a resort is and what one looks like.

I am not likely to return to the Whitelaw Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I am not quite sure what to say about this hotel, since it's typical Miami, but in a bad way. It's loud late at night, sparse and tiny. The decor looks like they went nuts at Ikea which could be a good thing, but they seem to have decided that minimal was the way to go and it didn't turn out well.

It's perfect if you're there strictly to party till you drop, sleep and shower. We also had some problems with being charged for things that we did not use, such as the mini bar that we never went near (I don't drink alcohol and my boyfriend was working the whole time we were here). You're lucky if you get a room with a view and if you're looking for typical hotel amenities, I'd book a room or suite elsewhere.

I am not likely to return to the Whitelaw Hotel.
