The rooms are exceptionally charming, clean and comfortable. The staff is usually very helpful and responsive. Some night and weekend staff service is uneven. The breakfasts are excellent way to start the day. The wine service is great. It is a great warm place to come home to!

This hotel made me feel pampered: All the furniture and the fireplace add to the feeling of comfort. The bath tub is a luxury each evening. The cookie jar in the lobby and the hot coffee and tea downstairs, with the library area to sit and sip are great.

The White Swan Inn has fireplaces in all 26 rooms, which are decorated in English style. The location, a few blocks from Union Square, was ideal. Their service was fantastic, everyone was there to help. The buffet breakfast and evening wine/cheese is served in a cozy living room, a great place to meet family and friends or just relax and read. Particularly on a rainy day in SF, the warmth provided by fire on the hearth in a pleasant environment by committed staff is really memorable and inviting. We loved it and are among their repeat customers.
