Unfriendly hosts. They acted 'put out' by everyone. If you ask for something, they give you a scoul look, like 'what do you want now' kind of look. None of the fireplaces were lit, and it was cold and rainy. They locked us out of the rest of the house at 10pm. It is a fire trap and with being locked out or in, we would all die in a fire because there is no way out of the upstairs rooms. McDonald's has better breakfast. People were there for 4 days and Joan, the hostess didn't recognized them. She asked them 'what do you want' when they entered for breakfast and they answered, 'we are staying her', and she said, 'oh.'
She yelled at my husband when our room had a black out because I was using my hair dryer and the cheapie heater which SHE plugged in blew the fuse. She told my husband, 'what is she doing using a hair dryer?' 'This is a very old house and she can't do that.' DUH! There was a hair dryer in our bathroom for guests use...WTH! We were so uncomfortable there. We were afraid to speak, like everyone else was. The Mears aren't cut out for this type of service. Maybe they have been at it too long and need a change. Our bed was awful. We felt the springs and it was very lumpy. The entire place was old, dark and dusty. It needs attention. It needs maintinence. Horrible stay. Never go back there!

Excellent
We had a great time at the Whistler Inn. It was located up the hill from downtown Lennox, nestled back in a grove of trees. The hosts were friendly, intelligent, and excellent conversationalists.
