We stayed at the Whisky Pete's Hotel and Casino from Jul 16th - Jul 20th. We usually love Whisky Pete's and have been staying here for many years. We have never encountered a problem with this hotel until this past trip. We arrived in Primm around 11:00 PM and finally got into our room around 11:45 PM. We come to find out that the TV has been unplugged and the entertainment center has been pushed out. We called for maintenance to come and fix the problem. Maintenance finally arrived around 12:30 AM. It seemed as though the maintenance man did not fully understand what was wrong with our TV. The maintenance man eventually understood the problem within a few minutes and was on his way. The next day on Jul 17th, we came back to our room after a long day at Vegas, to find a cricket making noise. The cricket made noise all night long and we could not find it anywhere. The next day on Jul 18th, my sister and her family decided to join us for the rest of our stay. While my sister was checking in, I was waiting with her husband and kids in a waiting area, away from the machines. While waiting here for a few minutes, a hotel worker came up to my neice and proceeded to tell her and her father "Wow, she has a big body! She eats lots of chicken!" The worker proceed to make rude comments and gestures to the two of them. Now my neice, who does have some weight problems did not need to hear this, her self esteem was obviously lowered the rest of this trip. On our last day, the 20th I took my daughter down to the gift shop to purchase some dice. The employee was very rude, and was not at all helpful. She was throwing rude comments, and an attitude toward my daughter. We usually love to stay at Whisky Pete's but this stay was something we would not like to remember!

It is reasonably priced and a nice fit for a short getaway, especially if you live in Southern California. There is not much variety of food beyond the hotel, with Las Vegas being forty five minutes north, but if you are not picky about your food this will work out fine. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel and a McDonald's restaurant. The monorail shuttling hotel goers back and forth across I-15 from the Whiskey Pete's hotel to the Primm casino and Buffalo Bob's on the eastern side of I-15 is a keeper, especially with the heat this time of year. The casino is user friendly and the sports book is modest compared to what you will find on the Strip, but both are respectable.
I am very likely
to return to the Whiskey Pete's Hotel & Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

They seemed in no hurry to check in all the guests in the long line. I was unable to use the pool because there was no lifeguard on duty. The carpet in my room was dirty, the cafe had very slow service and the food was not of good quality.
I am not likely
to return to the Whiskey Pete's Hotel & Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I should have stayed at Buffalo Bills. The restaurant in the casino was of a lesser quality than expected, I waited in line forever to be seated and the staff was nice but understaffed.

My husband and I really enjoyed Whiskey Pete's. We only had reservations for one night, and had reservations for the following two nights at Primm Valley Resort. I don't know why the Primm Valley resort is rated higher, Whiskey Pete's is much nicer. The check-in went smoothly, we had a very nice room. At the Primm Valley we had an awful room with a view of a brick wall which I promptly asked for another room, the view still wasn't very good and the room was really shabby with two small double beds. At Whiskey Pete's , the room had much nicer and newer furnishings, along with a writing desk, and more drawer space. We had a great view and a window seat. The A/C was excellent. They also have a much nicer bathroom than the Primm Resort. The bathroom had nice counter space along with a sliding glass door shower with a seating area. The casino was great with good service and entertainment. We also did well on the slots. I would definitely stay there again. The parking was very close to the entrance and was flat so it was easy to roll my luggage without an uphill grade. We also enjoyed going to Buffalo Bill's on the water log ride, and viewing the casino. They as well had entertainment. On Sunday night, Whiskey Pete's had a great band playing that we enjoyed. I regret that I had to stay two night at Primm Resort across the Highway, it was nosier, the room wasn't near as nice as Whiskey Pete's, and on top of that, it cost $11.00 more per night than what Whiskey Pete's charges!! At our arrival at Primm Resort there was also a snafu on our reservations which resulted in a much longer wait, and after viewing a solid brick wall, I asked for another room. I'm still disappointed with the rooms at Primm Resort. We did get to view a room at Buffalo Bill's by a very nice maid. We asked to see a room since we would like to go back and visit again, and the room was very nice with a great view just like at Whiskey Pete's. So on our next visit we will stay at both Whiskey Pete's and Buffalo Bill's

We are planning to move back home from Las Vegas to Minnesota but we did not want to spend money on another months rent so we opted to stay in a hotel because we would only be here another week. My husband is still working in Primm, so we decided to ...

The hotel seemed as busy as usual. Yet the staff seemed as though they could not possibly enjoy themselves at their job. The rooms looked as though the maids forgot to do the cleaning.

Whiskey Pete's has a wide variety of restaurants. I had expected it to only have a buffet. The buffet was good and the other eateries looked to be high quality also but closed earlier than I expected. Also closing too early was the arcade. I understand that children are supposed to be in bed, but my date and I wanted to play air hockey after having a couple of drinks and couldn't because it was closed. The casino had the appropriate variety of table games and the sports book gave me a half point better than a Las Vegas casino would have. Overall it exceeded my expectations.
I was surprised to see the arcade and the shooting gallery along the river. I would have enjoyed trying them out but they closed too early.
