Official Hotel Information
We were a group of eight (four rooms total) that booked this hotel resort for accomodations after a week long cruise. We arrived in a limosine with a large amount of luggage. The parking/valet attendants and the bell hop were all very friendly and accomodating. The excellence in service stopped there though.
The floor that our rooms were on was so humid that there was moisture on the walls, pictures as well as the door handles. This was resolved a few hours later. The rooms were very beautiful and clean. The furnishings were modern and the bed was comfortable.
I was travelling with medicinal items that needed to be refrigerated. The refrigerator in the room was solely for stocked items that they were selling (soda, water, candy, etc) and it stated clearly on that refrigerator that no other items were to be placed in there. They advised to contact the front desk to get a refrigerator. Upon calling the front desk, I was advised that there was a long waiting list for refrigerators (you would think that in a hot, humid location like Florida and with the obvious popularity of the refrigerators that they would have an adequate supply of these appliances) and I could be put on the waiting list but I wouldn't get an answer until the next day (our check out day). Well, I had to resort to the old ice bucket (we actually had to convert one of the garbages into an ice bucket because the ice bucket was so tiny). Strike one.
Someone we were travelling with needed lotion during our stay there. Called the front desk for an additional bottle of lotion that they never received. Strike two.
They advertise non smoking facility but in the room next to us, they were obviously smoking and the smoke was filtering into our room. We don't fault the hotel for this but their reaction was sub-par. When we informed the front desk and requested a different room, they said that they couldn't move us to a different room, would not give us a discount but that they would just fine the guests next door. WE had to suggest that they at least spray the room with deoderizer to rid the room of the smell. Strike three.
The walls are paper thin. We, unfortunately, did not find this out until the wee hours of the morning when partiers were entering and exiting the rooms near us. Strike four.
The next day, even though I had their "Do Not Disturb" sign out on our door knob, the maid continuously knocked on our door at 8:30 AM so she could clean our room. What is the point of putting out a Do Not Disturb sign if your own staff is going to ignore it? Strike five.
Lastly, one of our travel companions key card kept malfunctioning. At one point, they had to call the service desk to have someone let them into their own room. After more than 15 minutes of waiting for the maintenence person that never came, the maid grudgingly let them in. Strike six.....
In general, the rooms were decorated exquisitely but asking for anything that is not ordinarily provided, don't count on it. The staff (apart from the parking attendants and bell hop) have this attitude as if to say, "oh well, your loss, not our problem". No apologies, no extra effort.

Okay
The hotel is overall OK, but dated. We had very noisy neighbors (like 3:00AM Noisy)on two nights and it took two calls and a long time to get a reaction from security.

The restaurant was expensive, but worth it. The food was very good. I had a problem at check in. I reserved a king bed with an ocean view. We got two double beds that was not good for our first romantic vacation.
There was security at the doors of our building.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Westin Beach Resort.
I might recommend it to friends.

I found that it was very expensive, especially since we were staying for twenty eight consecutive nights for pleasure. When I first arrived I had my room changed due to large red spots all over the carpet that resembled either blood spots or red wine. The luggage attendant was also extremely rude. Overall, I really liked the hotel and I found that most of the staff was polite and friendly.

I took my 2 sons age 15 and 12. They upgraded us to full ocean views and the staff was excellent. Everything was fantastic !! It is an older hotel but well maintained. The location was great. We will be back! Thanks for a great time.

Let me first start off by saying that this was by far the nicest hotel I have stayed at. I came by myself and stayed 6 nights 7 days. At first I was a little skeptic about going alone and staying at a place where I have never been. From the minute I walked into the hotel I felt a warm comforting greeting from the staff around me. I ended up staying on the 14th floor and had one of the greatest times ever. I was never bothered by any of the staff nor people who vacationed. Staff was very helpful and always willing to help if need be. I do have to say that the men from Hertz car rental were always so willing to help. One guy in particular was always so nice and helpful. I was looking for places to go and things to do and he never hesitated to help. I thank him so much for that. Dining room staff was always so friendly esp. the waitstaff who worked outside. The room was very clean and always up to par. The beds were very comfortable and very easy to sleep on. The beach is right across the street, while restaurants/shops are a 10 minute walk down the road. Nightlife is also about 10-15 minute car ride. For myself I was never not entertained. I always found myself doing something new everyday/night. This place is a great spot to meet new people and have a lot of fun. I will definitely be going back soon. Thanks again for the wonderful stay.
