Westgate Vacation Villas and Towers Resort Resort - Page 1

While my stay at Westgate was enjoyable the reason I am rating this establishment so poorly is due to their customer service and follow through.

During our stay, a pool had been shocked with chlorine but had not been closed off. Not only did this damage my friend's hair, but it also destroyed our swimwear. Her navy suit turned a purple/brown color, another friend's suit changed from navy to maroon, and mine from black to grey! During my stay I filed a report with a security agent. After a few weeks without hearing anything, I called to follow up. Since November '07 (over 8 months) I have been seeking retribution for our swimwear and while I have been told that a check was in the mail, I am yet to receive anything. I have called over 25 times in the span of 8 months and have left numerous messages of which 1 was returned. Even more unacceptable is the fact that my friend is an OWNER of Westgate. I would never buy into this place given my experience, nor would I recommend anyone stay here. If this is how they treat owners, how do they treat guests?

As a Westgate owner who bought on the cheap, I am very happy with the facilities: the pools are warm and families are aplenty, the bikes and equipment are free to owners, the units are spacious and well-kept, and the one problem I had with a latch was rectified within an hour. Publix was nearby to get food for the week, and we ate and read on a screened patio just out of sight of the pool when we weren't eating out. The "gatherings" at the pools on different days were good for the free food, but there was not much variety. They do like to charge for phone calls and internet. With no Starbucks close by, I caved to the internet for the 3-day option, but with cellphones, who needs to use their phones anyway? I like not having to worry about bargaining for a place who-knows-where and how-good, start my day in the jacuzzi and make by own breakfasts (better than most continentals), wash my clothes so I can bring less, and worry less about security because of the gate. It is close to Disney, so there are a lot of restaurants, miniature golf and shopping places nearby (including the fake Coach stuff!). To be honest though, we just stuck around when we weren't shelling out the major bucks to the parks, and loved it.

I loved the Wesgate Vacation Villas. It is so beautiful. The villas had Florida charm. The pools were so nice and warm. Also the beautiful landscape. I love playing tennis. The courts were great. I would say this place is a great place and great for family fun. We went with our kids and my husbands dad, it was great.

Great Place to stay! This place was clean, and quiet. If your visiting the parks its a great place to come back and relax. Great for a family. Would return anytime!!
