Resort has alot to offer, great security, 7 pools, lots of space, walmart near by but if you do a timeshare --BEWARE! High pressure sales, make you feel worthless unless you purchase. But what got us is at the end of the supposedly 90 min offer, a lady came to us stating she was the "good fairy" her name was Eugenia S. and she is a

BIG FAT LIAR LIAR LIAR! SHE QUOTED US A SPECIAL OF 1295.00 FOR 5 weeks no hidden fees, taxes or other cost. We specifically asked her 3 different times about it. She sd the company offers cheaper weeks so in hopes you will change you mind and purchase with us. she also sd your basically paying lil over 330 a week. we sd if we stay at other Westgate's during the whole 5 weeks would not have any out of pocket expenses. only if we used the leisure time. com would we have to pay extra. She was just trying to get her bonus ck. We bought the 1295 special and booked a week in June, then tried to book another week at westgate in August and GUESS WHAT--they wanted more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

So in FLorida, there is a 10 day cancellation policy. WE CANCELLED OUT

imediately. Do not ever TRUST these people if thats what you call them!

Attended timeshare presentation. Salespeople were very unprofessional and downright rude when they discovered we were not going to buy. Also, when I stated that we had already been there for 2 hours and it was only supposed to be a 90-minute presentation, our salesperson said "it says 'about' 90 minutes". We actually were kept captive for over 3 hours. It was a horrifying experience. Don't do it, it's not worth it!!

I loved it!!! it has 7 pools the rooms are huge and clean. the kitchens are big and come with all you need and in the room are washer and dryer so you don't pack a lot to go to Orlando. service is awesome there are boat rentals a lot of activities and babysitting and mini golf and there is a wal-mart next door so you can buy groceries and save$$

member icon High Pressure sales at Westgate

Just an AWFUL experience. First was our sales person. She called me Mr. and than states or is it Doctor? The rest of the 90 minute "presentation" which ends up lasting 3 hours is pure high pressure sales. If you dare question the salesperson, they jump on you. She called us cheap and was angry when we didn't buy. They then bring in a closer in a loud room. The price dropped from $21,000 to $12,000 in a matter of minutes. When I asked to go, the sales people then got up and a 3rd "pretty girl" came in at a 3rd shot to sell us some $39 month plan. Finally after 3 hours we got out.

For a 5 star hotel, we had one small studio, awful tasteless eggs at the buffet and no maid service. Westgate was the worst.

By the way, for the people writing positive reviews, try to vary some of your adjectives and length of entries. Very easy to tell its the same person writing different reviews.

I like the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa. The resort is great but is it REALLY 4 star? This is how management describes the resort. My complaints are based on the assumption of it being 4 star and if so wouldn't be encountered. This resort CAN be better!

I have stayed at this resort several times with mixed results. The property is

in a great location close to all the parks and other shopping and dining options.

The problems with it are: nobody seems to check the rooms to be sure the appliances work and the room is perfect. I checked in to find ants in one of the rooms, mostly where our kids ( and probably everyone else's) sleep, with sodas and sweets, the staff responded by sending a extermination company the next day. The ants were either very resilient or the treatment was lacking. After speaking with management I am told this is to be expected as the resort IS in Florida a tropical state with lots of bugs. There were minor imperfections with the room damaged screens, cracked tiles. The resort lacks the convenience of housekeeping, you are supposed to get 1 visit as part of your stay but our visit consisted of the cleaner sweep loose trash into piles in each room and leaving them for us to pick up. As for the appliances I have had several not work but eventually were fixed. The activities offered were great when not visiting any parks. The only problems with the activities I have are the lack of employees providing them and an incident where I went to get a bike and most were broken. I could only get 1 person out of 6 to talk to me about this the rest were talking and braiding another employees hair. Sounds like a family visit at grandmas on Sunday afternoon. Also had problems with parking. I get the impression that although they bother me to tell me a maximum of 2 vehicles per unit there are 2 few parking spaces. Some are even taking 4/5 spaces with trailers, campers and boats.

It was a very beautiful property. The rooms were nice and we had a veranda overlooking a lake. We could even see the fireworks from Disney and Epcot. The several pools at the resort were all very nice. I was overall very pleased and I would return there if I ever had the chance.

This hotel made me feel secure: The locks on doors were new and worked efficiently. I just never felt unsafe.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Westgate Lakes Resort.
I might recommend it to friends.

Stayed there from 5/9 to 5/11. First of all, the timeshare presentation was extremely invasive and wanted to know why I had a child and was not married. Wanted to know where my son's father was. Also, had to check out due to a family emergency a day early and in my haste left my son's Nintendo DS Lite (a birthday present), along with a CD movie, and items in the shower. After calling security, housekeeping and lost and found (a joke!!), almost every day for the rest of my vacation (7 days) I did not get a call back until the Thursday before I was leaving. Then, now, almost another week later, they say that I did not leave anything in the room. They never explained the procedure for lost items and I guess someone is very happy.

This resort really did match the pictures that you see on the internet. Me & my children were pleased. The suite was extremely roomy with an additional outside attached room with a microwave refrigerator and bathroom for the children. The main room had a large kitchen, the floors were beautifully tiled and the whole room was extremely clean. We had a large screen T.V. in our room with DVD player and stereo. There was also a lovely balcony off the water for the beautiful evenings. The price was a great deal even if you did have to get harrassed during the sales pitch they gave that took a half day. But, it was worth it! All the parks were in close driving range of the vicinity. My family had a blast on and off the resort. I highly recommend trying the resort.

It was a very nice stay! The people who rented the condo to us had it decorated nicely. You and your kids will love it and it is right next to Disney!

This hotel made me feel hip: It had Thomas the tank engine sheets on the little kids beds and it had an Xbox 36!

Me and my family really enjoyed the resort. We had the two bedroom suite. It is very rare that you find a room that looks exactly like the pictures on the internet, but this was one of them. The resort, pool, and rooms were very clean. We also received tickets for a casino cruise which was great as well. We stayed for a total of 4 nights and 5 days. This was one of the best resorts that we have stayed in and my family wants to go back again next year. The only opportunity is with the check-in process, they are slow.

I am very likely to return to the Westgate Lakes Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I have been to Westgate Lakes four times and I do own there. Yes, there have been problems (water main breaks seem to happen every time I am there) but overall, when you travel with three kids, being able to make meals really saves money for the parks.

It is exceptionally close to Universal, Sea World and close to Disney. When the kids get vacation overload, it is real nice just to stay at the resort with their activities. Remember, this is not a typical hotel (daily housekeeping unless you request and pay for it). It is great having the whole family meet there for a get together but then have solitude of your space to relax in.

We love that the kids have a room for themselves and we can unwind in the Jacuzzi.

I location was good. The suites were very nice. I liked the screened-in patios. There were a lot of amenities. All in all, it was very good.

This hotel made me feel secure: It was gated, with security guards and the gates locked at night. Guests could enter with credentials.
