Western Inn and Suites San Diego Motel

The rooms were very clean and service was great. We were able to book all our tours from the front desk which was very helpful. Old town was walking distance so that was great. Great place to stay.

The outside looks nice so you get fooled into thinking it's a nice hotel. I arrived at 9 pm, and by that time, the lobby is locked, so you have to check in by standing at the window which is located in the dirty garage. When I got to my 3th floor, the carpet in the hall was very dirty and stained, the white trellis was broken with pieces of wood missing, and next to the ice machine is where they stored their dirty mops and pails. The room itself was clean, except there were black grease stains along the bottom of the curtains, the bathroom light was a dull sickly yellow, and the lamp shades in the room were old, yellowed, and the plastic in the shade was broken up with pieces missing.

Great place to stay close to everything and the rooms were clean.

You get what you pay for. The hotel has excellent rates. My room had some sort of insect that kept scurrying around across the floor. The room smelled somewhat funny. On the other hand, the staff was very friendly and the location is great. The hotel is located in Old Town San Diego, which is a lot of fun and has some really good, but pricey, restaurants.

This hotel made me feel respected: The staff was very polite and helpful in all my contacts with them. The service window was open all night, which was very useful for an early-morning checkout.
