We arrived and were given a grand tour of the Mansion. Besides the delightful staff and the yummy chocolates offered with turn down service each evening, on our anniversary we returned from dinner to find a bottle of champagne on ice with the room filled with candles. It was the best welcome back I have ever experienced. We travel every year for our anniversary and every year whatever hotel we are staying in knows we are celebrating an occasion, but the Wentworth Mansion went out of their way to make it memorable. A real treat...!!
And Breakfast was very good also. Parking was on site and the area the hotel was in was great, in that it forced us to get our walking in to really explore the historic district.
My only recommendation would be for the hotel to add small travel coffee pots in the rooms, so guests don't have to be completely put together to go down for that first cup of coffee or tea in the a.m.
The Wentworth Mansion is a well-maintained, beautiful old mansion with impeccable service. Our room was more than we expected but the walk through the College of Charleston can be tricky at night. No real street lights and crumbling sidewalks. ...

This is a very pretty, authentic, historical inn in a residential area of Charleston.
The feel is somewhere between a B&B and a four-star hotel. The service is very personal and there is someone at the front desk, but it still feels like you're staying in someone's (rather large) house, which in fact you are as the Mansion was built by a cotton merchant for his exceedingly large family.
Our room was very nicely appointed with a large, modern bathroom (with a huge shower) and a private balcony that overlooked the back yard. The room had free wifi which I didn't use, but I always appreciate free wifi.
There were many sitting areas that included a complimentary glass of wine in the afternoon and after dinner drinks later in the evening. A walk up 4 flights of stairs goes to the cupola which has a 360 degree view of the area.
One thing to consider when staying here is that it's about 5-10 minutes from the heart of downtown with the shopping, restaurants and bars. That's okay if you want a memorable and personal stay out of the noise of downtown, but one should just be aware of this before booking.
The wentworth mansion is an unbelievable place for true southern charm and service. The mansion itself was breathtaking and the knowledgable staff was very attentive. Miss Betty is a gem and made each morning bright and cheery. I would highly...

I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. From the moment that I pulled up to the parking lot there, where there were 2 bellman waiting. They gave us brief tour, and were incredibly knowledgable about the area. The concierge, who...
My wife and I spent a long weekend at the Wentworth Mansion in March of 2007. The property itself was better than any of the historic homes we toured, but I have never experienced service like they offer. It was a few blocks to get to the tourist...
My wife and myself stayed here for almost a week in May.. Everything we read about the hotel led us to believe it was a wonderful place. We were so MISLED. The location is too far to walk in the heat to downtown. Then you would have to drive and...
