I found this review a tough one to call. Our room was clean, comfortable, and certainly close to the water. We could hear the the waves on the beach. But you had to look over 2 of their dilapidated beach side cottages to see the ocean, and in general the place looked dated and in need of renovation. My wife and I took one look at the old cottages and said simultaneously, "Looks like Summer of 42" referring to the movie. We also didn't need an alarm clock, because the Downeaster', a passenger train took care of that blowing its horn at 7AM as it passed the grade crossing 1 block away. Despite its tidiness, the place just seemed depressing with its 50's styled architecture and decor. Was it clean and comfortable? Absolutely. Would I go back? Mmmmm...probably not.

Family Fun in Maine. The Waves Resort is right in the heart of Old Orchard Beach. The rooms overlook the Atlantic Ocean with a beach that is like silk. The rooms are charming and generous in size. Everything you need is there. Once you arrive at the Waves you won't need your car you can walk to all the attractions and just step out to the beach.
I am very likely
to return to the Waves Oceanfront Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Waves was a great place to stay on our family vacation. The location is central to the beautiful beach and all the fun spots are within walking distance.
The staff was helpful with cleaning our room at our convenience which was needed with our small children. The pleasure of taking short or long walks at all times of day or night cannot be as relaxing by staying miles from the beach.
Waves is located right near the beach.

Good
Waves is located right near the beach. My aunt likes to stay here when she visits the town. The rooms are well-kept and close to immaculate. It's not as close to the downtown area as other hotel/motels, but that does make it quieter. The front desk...
