Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill

We booked a room for one night at the AAA rate. The next day we asked if we could stay another night. The lady at the desk said yes and at the same rate ($139) and in the same room. We agreed. At 2:00PM my wife got a call from a manager saying that the rate was $429. If she was not out of the room immediately she would charge us one half the $429 rate. We of course left. We tried to talk with someone in charge to get them to confirm the price we were quoted but failed. This is a classic case of bait and switch. If you are considering staying in this hotel get everything in writing as someone could spring a new, higher, price on you. We will not go back to this hotel. Beware!!!

It was convenient to Metro, the Capital and the Mall. I liked the very comfortable room and the cheerful, helpful staff. My advice is to book early.

This hotel made me feel excited: The room was inviting with a comfortable bed, good bedside lighting and a spacious bathroom. The choice of seating, with upholstered chair or desk chair, was nice. Though the room was not over large, I felt good rather than cramped.

It was a great location and a luxury hotel. It was great value.

It's an excellent hotel. The staff wasn't the best I've ever seen, but they were friendly and adequately answered any questions I had.

The rooms were clean and above average in size. The view of the capitol was nice as well. The entire hotel had a luxurious feel for a moderate price. I believe the clerk mistook this hotel for another as the entire hotel is smoke-free and has been, thus making it impossible for her to have been given a smoking room.

I thought that it was a really nice hotel and we had no problems while we were there.
