Warwick New York Hotel

The Warwick seems to cater to unsuspecting British travelers, with its history of Beetles' stays, but in fact takes advantage. The price of breakfast in the ordinary restaurant was about $100 per person, literally higher than The Four Seasons restaurant in NY. The local room call for placing an internet laptop connection was over $8/minute, which they don't tell you upfront. When an English lady asked for currency exchange at the desk, the receptionist was very rude, "we're not a bank you know" attitude. All in all, a financially brutal experience.

Loved the hotel, would be lucky to stay there again. Great location, few blocks from Cenral Park. Very comfortable room.

I have stayed at many top class hotels in Manhatten inluding many rated 5* and whilst the interior of those hotels may be a little newer or a little plusher, none of them compare to the stay I have had a the Warwick (on several occasions). The location is fantastic and close to everything,the staff are very friendly and welcoming and not at all stuffy, nothing is too much trouble for them. The bar is just THE best lounge bar in the city - relaxed, comfortable and always has a 'buzzy' feel to it. The cocktails are simply out of this world and the service is second to none. The food served in the bar is excellent and it is the only place in New York where they make tea in the 'English way -( boiling water onto the tea!).

Whilst the bedrooms are more than adequate in size and very clean indeed,is true that some of the rooms are in need of a lick of paint. That said, that would not prevent me from making the Warwick my first choice hotel in New York. I hope the Warwick never changes.

We stayed two nights at the Warwick March 24-26, 2007. We asked for and received a free upgrade to a deluxe room.

It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The furniture and room finish materials were beautiful and the staff was very helpful and courteous. We walked to the theatre and New York highlights (Carnegie Hall, Empire State Building, and south to Ground Zero).

The hotel restaurant had a reasonable pre-theatre three course meal and helped to get us out on time. I would highly recommend this historic hotel to fans of bed and breakfasts and inns. It had modern conveniences with a historic feel.
