Waikiki Gateway Hotel

The lobby is cool and the location is great, but that's about it.....even at $69 per night, we felt ripped off. We stayed here one night and left the next morning. The rooms are dark and damp, and very old. There has been some remodeling, but it appears to be purely cosmetic. The beds are honestly by far the worst I have ever experienced. Even my 6 and 8 year old kids said they could not sleep, and they can sleep anywhere. The "complimentary breakfast" consists of canned pineapple, some type of orange colored beverage, individually wrapped muffins from a vending machine, terrible coffee, and an employee who seems to hate her job. Overall, you are much, much better off paying a little more and finding another hotel. We stayed at the Doubletree for about the same price and loved it.

Location, while not on the beach, it was a short walk and close to bus line.

The hotel is very good value. We were budget minded. We were rather pleased with this hotels location, cleanliness and the restaurant was superb. The only problem was the toilet backed up due to the people in the next room. We would stay there again.

This hotel made me feel secure: They had an efficient staff at the front desk, an elevator from the garage to the floor and room safe.

The location was excellent and there was valet parking for the customers. The continental breakfast was horrible so my advice is to plan to go out for breakfast. The rooms were small but clean. For the price, this Waikiki hotel was great.

The hotel has a good location, it is good value, but it needs upgrading. It is showing its age.
