Large rooms, upscale dcor.Every amenity except what you need (toothpaste). Trendy, hip hotel for business travelers. Comfortable large rooms. Bottled water $6.50 which is kind of insulting, where other hotels (Hilton) give you a free bottle. No...

Hip hotel just outside Silicon Valley. W Hotels are normally associated with hot areas in hip cities. The W Silicon Valley is located in Newark - not a hip city and technically not even Silicon Valley. But it's pure W style all the way. Decor is intimate and clean, and unlike other W Hotels, the rooms are large. Ours was a first-floor suite (all rooms are suites) that overlooked The Beach - the W's pool area with two-person cabana chairs and an outdoor fireplace. Not many people in the hotel's bar and lounge, which for a Friday night was surprising. Then again, no one goes to Newark for the nightlife, so if this is a big deal to you, stay closer to San Francisco or San Jose. Service at this W was not nearly at the level seen at larger W hotels, but it was decent. Room service arrived with two meals but only one drink, set of silverware, etc. - that said, they were prompt in bringing back what we needed right away. Food was good - room service ends at 10 PM, though, and calling by 9:45 PM is a smart idea. The suite also featured a kitchenette, so we were able to pilfer a few items from there to eat as well to accompany the meal after the kitchen closed. The suite came with a (shallow) bathtub and shower (another W Hotel rarity) and lots of their signature Bliss bath products. Overall, a great hotel for the money and definitely recommended.
I am very likely
to return to the W Silicon Valley.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
