Hotel Review

36 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The location was great. The rooms were smaller than expected for a W hotel but I realize it's because it's a high rise in New York City. I loved the heavenly bed and the service was friendly and efficient. The room service was quick. I was a little disappointed in the bathroom. At other W's I've stayed in the bathrooms have been new looking and make you feel pampered. This bathroom was small and the tub and shower did not look fresh to me. It had been cleaned but it seemed old and in need of updating and renovating.

38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I am a huge fan of W hotels, and stay there as often as I can. However, this experience did not live up to my usual experiences with W. Even though I am a platinum Starwood guest, my room was not upgraded, and there was a problem with the billing that took quite some time to resolve.

It's beautiful, chic, and ultra hip. It has great service although costs for consuming items in the room refrigerator were extremely high. Overall it was wonderful though.
This hotel made me feel extravagent: It's just very elegant.

I love the uniqueness of both the hotel and the restaurants in them. I do not love the attitude that too much of the staff takes. I have had both good experiences with the staff, as well as bad, but at an establishment such as the W chain, I expect more good than bad.

It was okay. I would have preferred to stay at the Westin Times Square as rooms there are bigger and newer, but it was booked. My TV was broken and I had to wait for an engineer.

Comfortable for a W, albeit pricey

It’s always a comfortable experience. I'm not too much of a fan of the overly-hip reputation of the W chain (I hated the LA/Westwood W), but the Times Square version is actually rather nice, and while the lobby bar does draw a crowd, the overall feel of this one isn't too pretentious. It's in a great location for anything in midtown, I usually stay there for work.

This hotel has an ideal location, right in the heart of Times Square. The hotel is very upscale and the rooms are luxurious. Also, I loved the hotel bar.

I was regularly pleased overall with the use of the W Hotels, but at my last visit in NY, it was lacking in professional service attitude. I expect a step above from other hotels; I hope this is just a one-time lapse.

Disappointed

Furniture in room damaged/broken. Rusted towel racks, carpet filthy, hallways filthy, cheap furniture. No room decor (pictures, etc.) Poor service from all staff except the concierge and Blue Fin coat check attendant. Extremely poor lighting in the guest rooms. I will say that the bed, bedding and robes were comfortable. They had great toiletries (Bliss), but it was not a good value for the money. There are other hotels in this chain that are a much better value. Don't waste your time and money unless your don't care about quality, stay somewhere else.

My room at The W had a beautiful view of Times Square, the staff was extremely helpful and the Living Room Bar is really fun!
