This hotel is a former Howard Johnson's with a purple and black paint job. The lines are long, the elevators are slow and the walls are paper thin. House music fills the air as patrons party their brains out in the lobby and then proceed to their rooms to blast music like an expensive frat house.

Much like the highend denim line "Rich & Skinny" - W Lakeshore is the hotel for everyone that everyone else loves to hate yet secretly wants to be - the young, skinny, trendy and rich crowd! The hotel embodies chic and exclusive from the moment...

Okay
This hotel would be adequate for childless coupless without shy bladders. Booked a room based on good rate and was assured the pool would be fixed by the date of our stay (12/27/09). Pool was not working which was a disappointment to my 11 and 12...

After we got over the IKEA type rooms - we realized this was more of a "yuppie' (do they still use that word) type hotel. Convenient location, but the front door felt like the hotel was under renovations. Strange to hear Chicago employees...

We had a great time at the W Lakeshore. I was there with my family and we had a wonderful time. The rooms we fun and the view was great. All of the services were outstanding. We had breatfast and lunch at the hotel and it was outstanding. We used the Acura Experience and were driven from the hotel to any where we wanted in the city for free in a nice new Acura SUV.
The best part of the hotel was the service. Everybody we came into contact with was very nice and helpful. My daugher got lost on an elevator and the staff was very helpful in getting her back to us.
This is a great hotel. The location is an easy walk to Michigan Ave. If you are looking for a place you can count on to have an enjoyable stay in Chicago, this is the place.

Okay
Just got back from a 3 day 2 night trip to do some serious shopping on the Mile. The W is a great location for this. Easy walk to Mich Ave and back plus really close to Navy Pier if you decide to take a break from the stores.
