Situated just minutes away from Penn Station and the Empire State Building with the Jacob Javits Convention Center and Herald Square shopping nearby. There is a large choice of rooms, each varying in size and price but they are all comfortable and clean. The Avalon Bar and Grill offers a 3-course prix fixe menu and also includes a bar and lounge. The breakfast there is lovely but there are plenty of places across the street too. There's a nice library and sitting room, which are great for relaxing in after sightseeing. It was 63 degrees in my room and they had no heater, only AC in the whole building, after asking for a portable heater about 10 times within 6 hours, they told me they have run out of them, then when I went to check out because of this the manager...

I have stayed here for the past 5 years, at least once a year. In 2007 & again in 2008-broken bathroom sink and shower. Makes you think that the Maid is not cleaning anything.
Hotel Manager and General Manager only offered a Free Breakfast Voucher.
Had to wash with a washcloth and then conduct all my Manhattan meetings after that. Disgusting!
