VILLA ISIDORO, once named Maplewood, is an example of a Tunnicliff Stone Mansion. The House was started in 1790 and continued by Aurelius Tunnicliff in a style similar to that of Hyde Hall on Otsego Lake. The Tunnicliff's were a wealthy family who at one time owned approximately 12,000 acres stretching from Richfield Springs to Fly Creek. This now restored as a Bed and Breakfast Inn Restaurant owned by your Host Isidoro Marra. Isidoro bought the house in 1990. Over a period of seventeen years, Izzy poured his heart into this Stone Mansion restoring it, and turning it from a farmhouse to restaurant and tavern with a wood fired oven. It also has four exqusite rooms for overnight accomodations. Enjoy the ambiance of the wrap-around porch, with the beautiful custome made Pergola with Ivy covered logs, and Stone Pillar Archway.
