Set at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains in the heart of Palm Springs, is the Viceroy, a distinctive boutique hotel and spa. Designed in a modern interpretation of the Hollywood Regency style, the Viceroy Palm Springs features private villas, artistically manicured grounds and three refreshing pools. The resort is perfect for a luxurious spa getaway, special event or intimate wedding celebration. The hotel is located minutes from all the activities in downtown Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Airport. The hotel's look is snappy retro-chic with a predominant color palette of clean white, with black stripes and splashes of cheery yellow and persimmon. The Viceroy's rock waterfall, koi pond and white, marble-tiled floors evoke a cool and lush atmosphere in the hotel lobby. The hotel's mascots, a graceful pair of creamy-white whippet statues, mark the entryway to pools and villas. Evoking Hollywood's glamour days, the Viceroy's 67 guestrooms are set around three distinct courtyards: the Presidio, Lobby and Regency Courts, each with citrus trees, bouganvilla vines and manicured gardens. All guestrooms include a sun patio or balcony, Italian designer linens and luxury bathrobes, custom beds with down comforters and pillows, and body and hair care products by Thymes. The Viceroy is home to Citron, an intimate restaurant and bar serving all meals including inside dining and patio service. Citron features modern Californian cuisine and an all-West Coast wine list. The Viceroy also offers the Estrella Spa, a full-service aromatherapy spa providing luxurious treatments in a serene indoor-outdoor setting. The hotel includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, expert yoga training, guided walking and hiking trails, and access to Palm Springs' finest shopping and leading PGA-quality golf courses. The hotel serves the perfect location for weddings with the garden courtyard hosting up to 170 guests, including gourmet catering. A resort fee of $27 per room/night is collected at time of booking. Fee subject to change. The fee includes: Valet parking, unlimited DVD rentals, local and toll-free calls, wireless Internet access, inbound faxes, daily newspaper, complimentary morning tea and coffee at the spa, in-room tea and coffee, 24-hour access to the fitness center, and complimentary use of bicycles.

Horrible
We came in from NY to have a quiet 5 day get-away for new years....as it turned out we made a fatal mistake in choosing the Viceroy. It may have been the New Years holiday, but a stress test is the best way to really test out a hotel or restaurant....
