50 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

When the family and I first arrived, I had a sinking feeling that I really made a mistake; maybe it was all the tweakers upstairs watching us, or the guys that seemed to know every car that drove through the parking lot and stopped for a moment. I have stayed in less comfortable rooms, noisier rooms, and even rooms that were not as clean as the one we had here, but the local jurisdiction was picking up the tab at the time. AAA should be ashamed for having this place in their tour books, but then again, never bet your life on those reviews is a lesson well learned.

49 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

If this was a $20 hotel, I might go back. But, I paid over $60 and for the money it was horrific. The hall paint and carpeting were filthy , stained, smelled horribly and are in need of replacement. At first glance, the hotel room was very dated but appeared nice, in a retro 40's way. The sheets were super thin and lightly stained. The curtains hung askew. There was no clock radio with alarm, and if you are into TV, it's tiny.

That's not what turned me off. The bathroom was a joke. The shower has never been scrubbed. There is black mold growing on every bit of grout, no exaggeration. Most of the floor was clean, but corners and edges need to be gone over to get the crud. Around the shower door was more crud and mold. Ironically, they put a wrapper around the toilet seat and made the little triangle point with the toilet paper. Too little, too late. There are no windows in the bathroom, so there is a fan: it doesn't work. The sink is broken and literally glued back together like a puzzle. It also was not attached to the wall.

I was surprised to have to pay so much and then in the morning as I went to get in the shower, I was stunned when I saw how disgusting it was. If I had seen the condition of the shower earlier, I would not have stayed.

The lady behind the front counter was rude, and the room was not very clean.

31 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This hotel is situated by a very busy street and is very noisy. When we checked in the owner told us not to worry about the noise and that her husband sleeps just fine every night. He must use ear plugs because the bass from the local cruisers was enough to keep me up until about 2 in the morning. Besides that, the staff was neither professional nor polite. Stay there only if you can't afford to go anywhere else.

I am not likely to return to the Value Lodge Grand Junction.
I would not recommend it to friends.
