Valley Court Motel Motel - Page 1

I was very satisfied with Valley Court and wanted to provide some positive feedback to help offset the other two very negative posts. I was very surprised by the other reviews, as this was not my impression of the facilities. Granted it was not the Hilton, but I was very satisfied with my room and the manager.

My room had a very comfortable king bed and cable TV. I liked my private balcony that overlooked the rushing river. It was lower than on previous visits, but I still enjoyed the sights and sounds.

Although the rooms are small, they are adequate including the bathroom. Granted it only had a shower, but I have stayed a many modern motels that only have showers.

The room was clean and well decorated. I liked the oldtime natural wood paneling on both the walls and ceilings. The ceiling fan was a nice touch to go along with the a/c. The cable TV had a good picture.

A few bugs were outside, but to be expected when sleeping on the river. Nothing to complain about. There is no on-site nite manager, but none is needed. The motel was full and everyone everyone respected each other. If was told to call the police, if I had any problems.

The bath was stocked with one towel and wash cloth per person. I asked for and received clean towels for my second nights stay. I have stayed here several times, and have always been treated well and have enjoyed myself.

This motel has got to be the poorest excuse for a motel. First of all, everything is outdated including the management. Nothing matched in the room. The doors wouldn't close. The windows were sprayed with paint to make it appear that one couldn't see out or anyone could see in. The shower stall was smaller

than the average "Johnnie Outhouse". The commode didn't work and the bar of soap was good for a midget. Management didn't believe in supplying more than one towel and face cloth per room. Management was not on site after room was paid for. Hornets and/or wasps were hovering around the doors and windows for added ambiance. The river sounds and visuals was the only amenity that was worth anything and it was FREE.

This motel is really good for only thing...........firewood. I would not recommend this dump for a dead cockroach. How the State of North Carolina

could make this dump pass health inspection is questionable. Pitching a tent would have made more sense.

The only thing I can honestly say that I was pleased with was the people who run the motel. They were understanding.

As far as the motel, oh my God, it was horrible! The room was okay as far as looks. It was very, very small, very outdated. The beds were comfortable. One person shower no bath, very small. Shower looked like it came out of a travel trailer. Toilet had hard water stains, but you could tell it was clean. Old furniture in dressing area in bathroom.

We walked in and turned around and left-went home. I don't recommend this place to families with small children. It would have been okay if it was just my husband and me.
