Vacation Village at Bonaventure

Room was beautiful. With four adults, there was plenty of room for us to comfortably stay for a week. The one problem we did experience was the floor in the room. With it being ceramic, and the walls so thin, we could hear everytime someone sat at their table above us. One night we were up until 2:30 in the morning because of the people in the room above us. We called the front desk four times, and they did not seem to really care that we were being disturbed. Other than that, we loved the hotel. The pool is incredible as well!

My husband and I here and after the second night, I had a bunch of bug bites. I thought they could be from the mosquitoes in Florida. After the third night and I woke up with twice as many bites as I had gone to sleep with, we pulled back the sheets on the bed and found bedbugs.

I immediately notified the management; they immediately moved us (good); however, I had to seek medical care and I still have not heard back from the manager, though we have called him 4 times. The nurse at local urgent care told me that people have come into the urgent care "frequently" because of bites received there.

When we arrived, we were required to talk to timeshare sales staff to get our parking permit. We signed up for the presentation (we really did try to get out of it); the salesman said that there was no pressure to buy, we would just have a free breakfast and of course that was not true at all. But, after the sales staff saw all of my bug bites they backed off of us.

The resort is 25 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale and 60 minutes from Miami, too far for our liking. RCI had indicated that the resort was 15 minutes from the beach, it's not true.

The check out with the hotel staff was too informal so it seemed that we didn't check out properly. I left an item in the hotel room after checking out but didn't hear back from the staff if they had found the item or not. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant and peaceful. Also, we were able to pick up a wireless signal for our laptop computer which made our work time there efficient.

This hotel made me feel secure: It was situated with a number of other hotels and communities that were upscale and nicely maintained.

We liked the huge rooms. It was a fantastic value for the rooms we received. They need to provide better access to soap and amenities though.

This hotel made me feel inspired: I'm not sure how to explain it, it was fun.

The hotel was beautiful and the room was comfortable. The bed was wonderful and not too hard like we've found in other resorts or hotels. We loved the jacuzzi tub that was in our room (my husband has back problems) and used it almost every night. The location was close to my family and friends and also to many amenities. They had many activities that were free to the guests and looked like a lot of fun. We didn't get to try some of them because of limited free time on this trip. The full kitchen was well-stocked with almost everything we needed to cook the meals we ate in. Our only complaints were: the air conditioner/heater was linked to the room next to ours (we had the larger side of a two room lockout) and when our neighbors turned on their heat it interfered with our ability to run the air conditioner and cool our room. The heated air leaked into our room and warmed it.
