University Center Hotel

This hotel was very disappointing, to say the least. The problems were immense, and I'll just mention a few big ones.

The cleanliness is at a low, as well as the hotel's overall appearance. The crime in the area surrounding the hotel is also very high. The breakfast was bar none the worst continental I have ever experienced at a hotel, and the college kids working the front desk are extremely overwhelmed it seems.

The only plus was the free University shuttle, yet even that was hit or miss at best.

The room was comfortable, but it could have used more lighting for reading. The television did not work, but it was immediately fixed. I had no other complaints.

The hotel was undergoing renovation when I stayed there. The promised free high-speed wireless Internet access never worked reliably.

The bathroom had falling tiles as did the bedroom -- which was stained with water spots. The door itself failed to close properly -- the lock wouldn't 'click'.

This hotel made me feel welcome: It has nice desk people. They sent extra towels when needed.

Everything was great. The clerk at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
