U S Grant Hotel

An excellent hotel if you want to experience the city.

It's close to the Gaslamp District and Horton Plaza, within walking distance of the harbor, Balboa Park, and the zoo, the location is just one of the great things it has going for it.

The hotel itself is very beautiful in an 'old world charm' way. The rooms are extremely well appointed and comfortable. The staff is warm and friendly.

My visit to San Diego was made all the more enjoyable having chosen the US Grant.

This hotel still needs help, and their staff is untrained. The hotel is still not mechanically sound, i.e. toilets and shower are overflowing, the wallpaper and paint are peeling as well as bubbling off the wall. Their decor is in horrible taste.

The hotel looks amazing! The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation has exciting artwork and pictures from the 1800's, the carpet is beautiful and the rooms are spectacular!

They had to switch rooms because of the wrong bed arrangement, I wound up in room looking onto a dirty rooftop.
