28 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
I stayed at this hostel and can honestly say it was the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.... and I have stayed in many hostels around Europe and the USA. It is a really dodgy part of town (they use the word vintage to describe the location, but I think the words 'bad part of town' and 'hostile' would sum it up nicely). It is a long way into the strip (over 45 mins by walking and public transport). The manager is hostile (except for the female manager of the complex... she is a doll). They play music all day and night in the courtyard which is not conducive to female taste. I also meet some really screwed up people staying in my dorm and at the hostel. The tours are not well organized and can be canceled at the last minute too.
In all honesty, I would stay at circus circus or stratosphere. Although the rooms are a little more expensive ($40 compared to $25), you are more likely to feel liking going home at night to your accommodation. For most males, the hostel would be fine... but for females it is too dodgy part of town, and it is too unsafe (it is only a matter of time till a female is raped on the walk to the hostel).
I know this review is harsh, but I have to get the truth out there to the public. However, even after this bad review, I did not personally have bad time. I was looked after nice enough by some people at the hostel. I just want others to know of the risks and the experience that they may face in this hostel.

25 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
every morning i would wake up, go down to the kitchen have my free pancake breakfast, then go out to the pool grab a lounge chair, put my cooler next to me and hang with some of the coolest women I've ever meet from all over the world. Had a great time at the mixers around the pool before a night out on the town. The limo tour was a blast, didn't get back to 6 am. Clean rooms for a great price with a cool international vibe. Keep up the good work, wish i was back already.

55 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I have stayed at this hostel for 9 years. It is not in a great part of town but I have walked ther from downtown at night and it was ok. Better to take the bus. The rooms aren't the cleanest. If you area female be sure to request a female dorm. The pool and hot tub are nice but beware that people hang out at the pool at all hours and it can be very noisy. Don't be late for breakfast.
Be sure you have a passport and a plane ticket. they have changed their policies over the years.
You can take a bus to the strip but it may take 45 minutes as it stops alot. It is better if you have a car. They have a secure parking lot but it isn't very big.
you may want to try the other hostel on Las Vegas blvd. It is closer to the main strip and is cleaner.

18 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
I’m from Australia and I have been traveling all over Europe and America and I just recently stayed at the USA Hostel in Las Vegas and I had the best time there.
The staff was very helpful and there was always someone at the front desk ready for you if you needed help with anything. The breakfast was great, it’s all you can eat pancakes and best thing is, is that you make it so you can make it as big as you want it.
If you were not up for going out and spending all your money on the slots, at the hostel they had a great bar and that was where everyone hangs out, and that was were I had most of my fun because I was able to meet heaps of people from all over the world.
I had stayed at hostels all over Europe and this was one of the good ones because of the social part of it.
There were a couple of bad things about it such as the location but it wasn’t that bad that I didn’t feel safe to walk by myself.
But overall, I had a great time and will for sure be going back as soon as I save up some more money.

I've never stayed at a hostel before, and I had the time of my life here. The staff was excellent and the bartender was outstanding and a heck of a lot of fun. I’d recommend this hostel to anyone needing affordable accommodations and would like to meet some awesome people from all over the world. It may be in a dodgy part of town, but I had no problem walking to and from the hostel alone.
Keep up the great work USA Hostel Las Vegas - you rock! Viva Las Vegas!
