35 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I stayed at this hotel Feb, 15-17 -2008. The rooms were not up to standard. The staff the Front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and the shuttle service were very unprofessional. Several expensive items were stolen from my room. I will never stay at this hotel again. I feel that background checks should be done when hiring new employees. To protect the guest.

53 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Recently I stayed at this hotel; it was an unforgettable experience. We had arranged "special rates" for $59 for over 20 rooms only to see that those are their normal rates.

Two of the floors were "under construction" and only one floor, the 7th, had ice, with the temps in the 100+ day and night.

The weekend stay was for a few birthday celebrations, which the hotel knew. Airline staff was roomed on the same floor as the party people and they profusely objected to our partying.

The desk staff, for the most part, were excellent although we did have major problems with the evening clerk.

The epitome of my stay was the racial slur letter left on the public computer in the lobby and the manager taking 4 hours to call me back when brought it to the attention of the desk staff.

I would not stay here even if I had to stay in the park in the heat and would not recommend anyone else stay here.

It was excellent. There was a swimming pool outside your door no matter where you were. The food was a little expensive and out of the way of the rooms, but, otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: It was the most expensive place that I have ever stayed. I would never have stayed in so nice a place on my own.

I am not likely to return to the Twin Palms Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.

member icon I was overcharged for my phone calls
Posted Jul 03, 07 by Gerhard, 1 reviews
52 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I stayed in this hotel for a week in May 2007. I made 2 phone calls to Germany. Both calls were operator assisted calls directly billed to my credit card. In both cases I spoke to the operator, gave my credit card details, and the operator confirmed that my credit card would be charged, not the hotel bill.

During checkout I was very surprised to find out that the calls were additionally billed to my room (the total was over $60). The person at the front desk told me she couldn’t clarify this and I should get beck to the hotel later (it was 5am and I had to catch an early flight). After returning to Germany I immediately contacted the hotel and was told I should send them a bank statement proving that I actually had paid twice for my calls. This is what I did, and from then on all my emails and faxes asking for reimbursement simply were ignored.

Mistakes can happen, but the way this hotel dealt with my complaint is just intolerable. I am still waiting for my money. My recommendation: avoid this hotel if you can.
