Turtle Bay Condos Kuilima Estates

We've have stayed at Kuilima West unit 51 5 or 6 times.Please keep in mind the condos are individually owned and vary in condition. They also have different management companies.Our condo was very nice and clean,management was attentive to our questions and needs. No cockroaches, a few ants (if you leave food out)and of course,geckos! Windows are louvered so they can come and go as they please. But my goodness, geckos are not a sign of filth! They are just part of the Hawaii experience!

We noticed upgrades every time we returned. Flat screen TV,DVD player,Personal Computer/internet, new bedroom set one time,new living room furniture the next time and new bath fixtures the last time!

The best part of is the area itself with miles of beaches within walking distance and LeiLeis restaurant! What could be better than to sip MaiTais and not worry about driving home? There are a few more restaurants in the Turtle Bay Hotel as well.One really nice one right on the sand.Haleiwa is just 20 minutes away if you want a change of pace for dinner.

There are horses on the property that you can ride for a fee or just visit like we do.

I guess you just have to research where you stay and stick to a good thing when you find it!

We love "our little piece of paradise" and highly recommend it to all our friends.

We had stayed at the turtle bay resort, but because we were traveling with my inlaws we decided to get a kuilima condo. It was perfect (well almost).

Two problems the next door neighbor, who owned his own condo, did not remember what it was to be a kid. They complained about my kids running outside to early in the morning. I apologized and asked him and her to understand that my kids like myself were excited to be in their little piece of paradise and I conceded to ask the kids to be quiet before 8am. Oh and the coffee maker was broke. Other than that everything else was great. It was nice to be in Hawaii and be able to be as comfortable as home. The condo had everything you needed and more. Beach chair, snorkel gear, coolers, beach mats, beach towels, movies everything. We have already started looking for a condo for this summer.

The decor of the condo was nice. I thought the grounds and pool were clean and well kept. The condo was full of bugs. We had a gecko that lived with us. There were roaches, sugar ants (even upstairs) , fruit flies, and who knows what else. We do question whether the sheets were clean, since there was a dirty piece of clothing in the sheets. (Of course, this was found after our week's stay!) I mentioned the bugs to the office. She said there is a bug problem due to the extensive bug spraying of the golf course. The bugs on the course move towards the condos. Even so, the management should exterminate more often. I would not stay at this complex again and would not ever stay near a golf course.

The exterior and maintenance of the estates is impeccable. We had a few ants and a couple of geckos as housemates but that is to be expected on a tropical island. My main peeve was that the upstairs toilet fill valve was defective and If you were not alert then It would overflow...which happened to me once. After that I just used the one downstairs. My cousins a couple of doors over were not so lucky...I shall let them write their reviews lol

ps there were a couple of stains on the carpet and the room smelled of stale cigarrette smoke

Very disappointed with our experience at the Turtle Bay Condos. Very upkept, dirty and not maintained. We brought this to their attention after checking in and the management could care less. One toilet and tv did not work. The bath linens and kitchen dishes were dirty. The airconditioners were full of mold. The master bed frame had termites and had seen years of service (old).

The towel bars were broken off the walls so you had to hang the towel on the towel bar brace that was left attatched to the wall without the bar. It was just dirty everywhere.

The grounds were beautiful and the swimming pools were clean. The condo has potential if they would clean and maintain the condo.
