After reading previous reviews before my stay at the Trumbull Marriott, I was a little concerned! I said as much to the hotel manager when I arrived and she assured me that their renovation in Feb 2008 brought the hotel back to Marriott standards. She was right. Beginning with hardwood floors in the entryway to my room, comfy beds and linens, plasma flat screen TV, internet hook-up (wireless is coming soon) and ending with cider and cookies in the lobby. Staff was friendly and smiling, the pool area was clean and inviting and our conference set-up provided all the technical amenities. I did not take pix of the showers but I can assure you that mine was clean and functioning.
Loved the hardwood floor entryway, comfy beds, plasma screen TV, warm decor, cider and cookies in the lobby. Good business center, inviting pool, great location. Would work on the restaurant - Chilean sea bass dinner and mousse shooters dessert...

This was my 4th stay at this hotel, primarily because it's convenient to a corporate site. Item 1: I responded to a 'virtual concierge' email and requested a 'sample size toothpaste' and a 'sample size shaving cream' upon arrival. That request was confirmed by the hotel via email. Upon arrival, neither the toothpaste nor the shaving cream was present. I had ice, extra pillows and a fridge, but not the two items confirmed. Item 2: the climate control did not work. It was cold outside, so I wasn't bothered by it. Item 3: the shower head adjustment was broken and spun freely; water blew out of the adjuster and soaked the floor. I reported this to 'at your service' at 0730 hrs on 29 Jan to "Elsa". I told here that I'd be out from 0800 until early evening; they had all day to fix the problem. I did not bother to check on their work. Next morning, I realized they had not fixed the problem. Reported again to 'at your service' which apologized and offered to credit my Marriott Rewards account with 1,000 points. Guess what? The confirmation email shows a credit of 500 points. Plain fact: why didn't their crack housekeeping staff spot the shower and climate control problems? They're in the rooms every day. Item 4: Ate in the in-house restaurant Monday evening 28 Jan. Service was awful. My business associate and I had access to the concierge floor and grabbed two drinks there and headed to the restaurant. The waiter charged us for the two drinks, even though they'd never been served there.
I'll look for a different hotel on the next trip, probably a Starwood, even if it's a greater distance from our office site in Bridgeport.

We loved everything about it from the moment we arrived. I guess the most memorable part of our stay was the service we received and the bedding, which was better than any bedding we have ever had in more luxurious hotels in the past. The Marriott chain has far exceeded our expectations over the years and it continues to amaze us every time we stay with them.
They treated us like they had known us all our lives and that we were of great importance to them, which in turn made us feel pretty cool!
I am very likely
to return to the Trumbull Marriott Merritt Parkway.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We stayed at this Marriott because it was convenient for the funeral we were attending.
While the public areas are all right, the rooms were filthy. We discovered that our bed had not had the sheets changed from the prior customer. The ceiling in our bathroom was leaking and a large chunk of the ceiling fell into the bathtub on the 2nd and final day of our stay. The grout had mold in it and even after our complaint was not cleaned. The manager offered us some points and $20 off our bill, which was insufficient considering the filth and inconvenience. Bathing in whatever was dripping down out of the ceiling should have been treated more seriously, as well as the problem with the mold. The hotel manager knows there is a problem, they even turned off the water in the entire hotel during our stay, and this was before we informed them of our problems. Do not stay at this hotel.

I showed up at nine o'clock in the morning to check in. There was no room ready but the staff was very nice and they let me use the gym. They put me in an upgraded room at eleven o'clock. I will be back.
They staff at the front desk and the gym was very nice. The concierge level was great.

The front desk staff was less than enthusiastic when approached. The room was located at ground level, as such bugs had easy access through the door. Although the bathroom was cleaned each day during my stay, I noticed that the staff did not scrub the mold away that was growing on the tile and grout. If I were to stay here again, whether for business or pleasure, I would request a room on a higher floor.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Trumbull Marriott Merritt Parkway.
I might recommend it to friends.

I love the Marriott hotel. The problem we faced was that the air conditioning unit stopped. Also, they have upgraded the linens on the beds but we did not need a comforter in the summer.
