This place is nice looking on the outside, but, the inside needs more help. The building is under construction and the rooms are so so. The room I had was so so and the bathroom had a leak and it was over the bathtub. The WIFI is TROUBLE. I called and asked the manager which was the owner was there a problem with the WIFI and he said that it is was working all over the building and that it must be my computer. I said I will be down there in a few to show you my computer and of course he had nothing to say. The telephone did not work in my room and I was charged for it. I got a refund for that. Also you have to park the next street over. This hotel is right on the beach, but, you will have to ask for a room with a view. Cheap price and poor quality, but, an excellent location for the beach and shopping for beach gear and souvenoirs.

When we arrived we were told we got a free upgrade because there were no more rooms with two double beds. That was good until the Jacuzzi leaked,the TV had no cable,the carpet smelled and there was a mattress outside our door the whole weekend. This hotel needs to be renovated. I think for $189 a night they should be a shame of themselves.
This hotel is deceptive so beware. My boyfriend and I decided to spend an overnight at the Tropicana and to make a long story short, the reservationist sounded oh so sweet on the phone. However, when we got there were a list of rules we were to sign

Cheap in every way. You get a bit less than what you pay, and you don't pay much at all. The tiny pool is on the sidewalk, parking across the street, old uncomfortable beds. Not a place to treat for family nor is it good for romance. Forget about room service, and the breakfast is a scam.
The location is great, the rooms are spacious, otherwise this hotel would get less than a 1.
the # wasnt even there when i wanted to buy it !!!..wat is this well i wouldnt stay here i wanted good service not some service that wasnt worth my time.There wass a dirty room with dust in it, they need to start being more cleaner.
The hotel is not worth the money! It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There phones have no directions on how to dial out, and there is no alarm clock! What hotel doesn't provide these basics? The staff is awful, barely any speak...

I took my kids for a weekend getaway to virginia beach. We stayed at Tropicana Hotel in an oceanfront room. The view was fantastic. The hotel is on middle of the boardwalk strip and close to everything. The room was clean and very spacious for me and my three kids to spread around. We had a great time. They also had a pool so when we were tired being in the sand and hot sun, we lounged out by the pool. Nice place with down to earth people. Will go back!

I don't have time to tell you everthing that is bad about this hotel. The only thing that was good was the price at the time, but i see now why the price was so cheap. Do not waste your time and do not ruin a vacation staying at this place, spend the extra money and get another hotel you will thank me. I would rate this hotel less than a 1 if I could.
