22 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Hotel room shabby but clean. You aren't in your hotel for long periods of time so it is just fine. The pool is good with a waterfall at the back side where is it more private. It almost looks like you walked back in time to the 70's when you are walking through the halls. The restaurant on the main floor was good food but looks like it was remodeled in the early-mid 90's with bright colors and toucans. I actually thought it was quite funny how out dated it is. I didn't have any problems there, air conditioner worked good. Overall I can't say anything too bad about the place. If you want to stay somewhere cheap and close to the strip this is probably the best for your money.

Rooms do not include coffee. Hotel prices are outrageous on coffee, soft drinks and water. Small bottled water was 2.50. To go drinks were only available at Java Java and Players Deli and they were not open 24hrs. The simple meals to go were only available at the players deli and again they were not open 24 hrs. The Garden Cafe did however offer meals and drinks for 24 hrs but, the service was poor. And again, I must stress the option was available for eat-in only. I did however get breakfast and lunch a couple of times and the eggs were good but, the fried potatoes had flavor at all. Hot sauce and salt did not help. They were also cold. Grilled Chicken Salad was good. Servers were unfriendly. I am a good tipper but, finally after the 4th time the $1 tip was more than generous. I will not be returning no matter how cheap the rooms are. Mold around the tub is hazardous

to our health.

33 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed at the Tropicana in Nov, 2007. When we booked our trip for Vegas we decided we would go for the hotel with the cheaper rates because we were not going to Vegas to sit in our room. We did get what we paid for. Checking in was easy, we were in and out of the line in a matter of minuets and it was a long line. Our room was a garden room and had a balcony that overlooked the pool which I thought was nice. We were there during a heat wave and our air conditioner didn't work. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty! The sink wouldn't stop leaking, but I don't pay their water bill so I wasn't too worried. I got a towel and some cleaner and cleaned the bathroom myself, it only took me a few mins and was better then when we got there but still dirty. The first night we returned to our room late at night and discovered they never put any sheets on our bed. We were too tired to care so we just fell asleep on the covers in our clothes. They added sheets to our bed the next day. Our room key didn't work half the time, I had to go to the front desk a few times to get new keys. I had also realized that our door wouldn't lock on its own. You would have to pull hard on the handle and make sure it was locked each time you left. On the positive side, the staff was amazing! We play poker, and somehow always ended coming back to play in the Tropicana poker room. The comps were great we didn't have to pay for any of our meals while in Vegas. The buffet wasn't the best, but it was great for being free. The location was perfect. Tropicana doesn't advertise itself to be the best hotel on the strip, they promote their charm. I do believe they have lots of charm, and had a warm and friendly atmosphere. Now in 2011 the Tropicana will be remodelled and the prices I'm sure will go up to reflect it. I do believe we got what we paid for, if we paid more I would have been upset. I have been back to Vegas since Nov, and stayed in a "nicer" more expensive hotel and it didn't have the atmosphere the Tropicana has.

46 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

All the hotel staff was approachable and knowledgeable about the hotel as well as current events in the area. Our room was spacious, very clean and we received prompt room service when ordered. The hotel restaurants were outdated, cluttered and with very average food quality. The pool was not in operation and it was in bad disrepair and neglected. I did have a nice time and with all there was to be offered off site for food choices I was not disappointed.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Tropicana Resort and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.

43 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

It was a great location. The pool was nice, but too crowded and packed in an unsafe way. There were parts of the pool that were closed which was a disappointment and it seemed like a rip off. The line for breakfast was insanely long at the buffet and the coffee shop. The food and the service at the coffee show were not good. The buffet for breakfast was nothing special.

I am not likely to return to the Tropicana Resort and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.
