My husband and I, both in our mid twenties, really enjoyed our last stay at the Trop. We were given a South Tower room which was beautiful, clean, and comfy. We ate dinner at PF Changs (MAKE A RESERVATION) which was good, but not fantastic. Then...
This hotel was very old. I walked into the room and it literally seemed like a flash back to the 60's-70's. The decor and bedding needs to be updated. The bed matress was hard as a rock. For $109/night i was expecting a much softer matress. I...
Definitely going back to the Trop!

Excellent
I enjoyed my whole experience, from staying there in a very clean room for 2 nights which cost only $79 a night to the food at Carmines, to the employees who were smiling and very helpful....I didn't win big but enjoyed myself and I am going back...

We've been going to the Trop for about 3 years now. After reading some of the reviews I feel compelled to write my own. I don't know WHAT hotel the people that rated the Trop a 2,3,or 0 stayed in but it must have been a different Trop than we stayed it. We've stayed in the North & South Towers and in the Quarter. I can tell you we never stayed in a room that WAS NOT clean. If a room was that dirty, ask the reservation desk to change it. Don't misunderstand, some rooms were nicer than others but they were all clean.
When you eat at a Buffet, any buffet, you shouldn't expect gourmet food. Go to Carmines or RiRa or any of the other great restuarants that are at the Trop if you want Great food.
Some one said they were charged and additional $50 a night, that has NEVER happened to us.. maybe they underestimated the original bill and if they were silly enought to sit in the casino to Wait for their room that was their problem. we never waited an additional 2hrs for our room, and yes we go over a weekend.
The comps at the Trop are great, we get a room, food, and usually a show, and we don't spend that much at all..

By far the worst. This hotel distributed over 100 pink slips to its staff last year, leaving a sever staff shortage. The buffet that is at boardwalk level had the worst food in all of AC. the fish was dry/ overcooked. The strip steak was so hard and dry that the steak knife could not cut into it (I am not joking
) The desert table was a disgusting mess, what was suppose to be apple cobbler was a tray filled with liquidy gooey mess. There was only one wait staff person for the entire area so I had to wait 30 minutes to get a beverage (it was not self serve beverage available). The hotel elevator area smelld like fish/garbage. there were food trays in the hallway for 2 consecutive days. My so called "ocean view" was a crap side view of a ledge. I paid to stay here, it was not a comp. the buffet was 25 bucks and it sucked.

Good
There is a bus that goes from NYC's George Washington Bridge to the Tropicana. The bus costs something like $10, but when you arrive they give you $20 in cash and a free buffet. On arrival, we noted a nice enough hotel and casino. No, it is not as...

My fiancee and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights...it seemed really nice at first but man were we wrong...1. Parking garage is like a 10 minute walk from the hotel 2. We checked in around 1230 and although check in time is 3 pm, our room "wasnt ready" until after 5 pm...so instead of walking back and putting all of our luggage to the car..we decided to just sit and wait in the casino WITH ALL OF OUR LUGGAGE...AND...they kept telling us to call back every 30 minutes to see if the room was ready. 3. THIS IS A BIG ONE!!!!....THEY CHARGE YOU A 50 DOLLAR RENTAL PER DAY FEE ON TOP OF WHAT YOU ALREADY PAID for the room....so when we were magically missing 200 dollars out of our bank account, my fiancee went to ask what was going on and they then disclosed (3 days into our trip) that they charge the fee...BULL!!!...NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST...
We stayed here for our 25th anniversary, when we arrived we were upgraded to a oceanfront suite at no extra cost. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly, check in and check out were quick. Overall, we had a...
